Today, many colleges require students to complete an internship as part of their course work to earn their degree. If you’re considering a career in accounting, landing an accounting internship will allow you to gain valuable experience and help to determine your ideal path after graduation.

What Does An Accounting Intern Do?

Typically, our internships run January through April. Our interns work on a variety of projects and tasks throughout the busy tax season, including compiling and analyzing financial information, account reconciliations, tax return preparation and administrative assistance.

Leave A Lasting Impression

Many firms will use their internship programs to vet interns for future positions. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and make every effort to get to know as many people as you can! You’re not expected to know everything as an intern. Working hard and leaving a positive impact could earn you a full-time position after graduation.

What our interns are saying…

I interned for two busy seasons. They were both by far some of the best experiences. I learned so much invaluable information in such a small span of time. And with being so busy, the time flies by! I would have to say that my favorite part about interning at Corrigan Krause was the people and relationships I made throughout those few short months. Everyone is extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They are so open to questions and love to see people succeed. They make the work fun and enjoyable. I am now part of the full-time staff and I’m happy to say that those work relationships have grown into friendships. Choosing to work at CK (and them choosing meJ) was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career in accounting.

– 2016 & 2017 Intern

The variety of work I was able to experience was my favorite part. Instead of doing the same thing repetitively throughout a four-month period, I got to work on something different almost every week. This allowed my work to always feel fresh and new while continuously expanding my own knowledge, experience, and skills.
