Congratulations! CK’s 2022 Promotions

Growing the Corrigan Krause team and promoting our professionals allows us to build the strongest and most effective team for our clients. During this past year, a number of our professionals have developed their skills and earned much deserved promotions.

We are pleased to announce the following 14 promotions:

Robert J. O’Neil, CPA, has been promoted to Director.

Rob joined Corrigan Krause in 2016 and brought valuable experience in the estate and trust areas of accounting. He has 10 years of experience in public accounting and continues to find ways to expand his knowledge. Rob is currently working towards his Master’s in Taxation. With his expertise in exit planning and taxation of complex transactions, Rob helps lead the Estate, Gift and Trust specialty at Corrigan Krause. Rob enjoys working with his clients and their advisors to provide a holistic approach to their financial plan and tax well-being. In addition, his coworkers appreciate his dedication to the job knowing Rob won’t stop until he finds effective tax solutions for a client.

Alexis C. Burch, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Manager.

Alexis joined Corrigan Krause as a Manager in the Assurance Services Department in November 2020. She previously spent six years at Deloitte in Cleveland and now works on compilations, reviews, and audits of a number of industries, specifically: manufacturing, professional employee organizations, healthcare, and construction. Alexis is also helping to develop and enhance CK’s risk-based audit approach to ensure the most efficient audits for our clients. Alexis earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Akron.

Alex M. Ferrara, CPA, MBA, has been promoted to Senior Manager.

Alex came to Corrigan Krause after starting his career at a small firm in Canton, Ohio. Alex specializes in construction, manufacturing, not-for-profit and service clients. He works hard to develop relationships with his clients that go beyond the spreadsheet so that he can better understand what their goals are. Alex received his Bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting from the University of Mount Union and earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Akron.

Douglas R. Rames, CPA, was promoted to Senior Manager.

Doug worked in public accounting for five years and another two in industry accounting before joining Corrigan Krause in 2019 as a Senior Associate. He has since moved into a manager position and works in a variety of areas. Doug is a part of the Assurance Services team, focusing on construction and employee benefit plan clients. Doug earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Miami University in Ohio.

Scott Serfozo, CPA, JD, was promoted to Senior Manager.

Scott started his career as a bankruptcy attorney, but decided to change his path and moved into the world of accounting. Scott leads our real estate specialty team where he works with closely-held businesses to help facilitate growth and maximize tax savings. Scott received his first Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Ohio University and then earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He earned his second Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cleveland State University.

Ryan A. Sklenicka, CPA, was promoted to Senior Manager.

Ryan joined Corrigan Krause’s tax department in 2015. His clients appreciate that he’s dependable and accurate – they know he’s only a phone call away with a quick response to a question. He has experience in construction taxation & accounting, tax planning and compliance.

Jennifer L. Bartone, CPA, was promoted to Supervisor.

Jennifer joined the Corrigan Krause team January 2022 as a Senior Associate in the tax department. Previously, Jennifer honed her accounting skills at a Big Four firm, a major automobile brand, and a local CPA firm. When working with clients, Jennifer helps individuals be successful in their business and personal finances. She is highly experienced in preparing various types of tax returns and minimizing taxes where possible. Jennifer is caring individual and takes time to go beyond the taxes and make her clients feel valued.

Melissa A. Lustek was promoted to Supervisor.

Melissa started her career with Corrigan Krause in 2017 as an intern for two years. At the beginning of 2020, she began as a full time associate in our Assurance Services Department. Melissa has since been a senior associate and was promoted to supervisor in 2022. Melissa is part of our Assurance team and has a special interest in employee benefit plans. She excels at her work through her genuine passion for helping clients improve their business and by providing quality work to each and every client. Melissa earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Cleveland State University.

Timothy A. Monroe, CPA, was promoted to Supervisor.

Tim joined Corrigan Krause as a Senior Tax Associate in November 2020. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at a small CPA firm in Charleston, SC. Tim focuses on manufacturing and is our go-to expert for all things cryptocurrency. He demonstrates expert skills when it comes to planning or reporting crypto transactions and general tax preparation and planning. Tim graduated from Ohio Northern University.

Daniel L. Beaton was promoted to Senior Associate.

Daniel joined Corrigan Krause in September 2020 as an Assurance Services Associate. Prior to joining CK, he gained experience in public and private accounting. Daniel helps clients grow their businesses, particularly in the manufacturing and not-for-profit sectors. When working with clients, Daniel provides service and expertise they can trust. He is patient and diligent in helping his clients solve issues they previously do not understand. Daniel earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Kent State University.

Spencer H. Helwig was promoted to Senior Associate.

Spencer joined Corrigan Krause in September 2020 as an Assurance Services Department Associate. He was involved with the COVID Assistance team and specializes in construction and valuation. In the office, Spencer diligently works on valuation work and completes reviews and compilations for his clients. Spencer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with minors in Business Finance and Data Analytics from Walsh University.

Montell K. Martin, CPA, was promoted to Senior Associate.

Montell started with Corrigan Krause in January 2022 as an Associate in the Tax Department after working at PwC in their State and Local Tax Division. He is focusing on Real Estate and specializes in State and Local Taxes from his prior experience. When it comes to working with clients, Montell offers his expertise to ensure his client’s experience is a pleasant one. He takes pride in providing clients with the highest level of service and increasing client satisfaction. Montell earned his Accounting and Finance degree from Xavier University.

Logan D. Siebert was promoted to Senior Associate.

Logan started his career with Corrigan Krause in 2019 as an intern while he was still in school. Upon graduation in 2020, Logan was brought on as a full-time Tax Associate having refined his skills during his internship. In the past few years, Logan has focused on Consulting, Real Estate, and Construction. Logan excels at condensing tax related information into a digestible form for his clients. He believes clients should foremost understand the information and then work with him to make informed decisions. Logan earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

Bryce L. Tucker was promoted to Senior Associate.

Bryce joined Corrigan Krause in October 2019 as a Tax Associate and specializes in construction accounting. He is passionate about working with people and helping them solve issues they may not be familiar with. On the day-to-day, he deals with notices, audits, bank issues, and tax planning. Bryce earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Accounting from the University of Akron.
